The Wolf Full Moon at the White Spring (11 Jan 2008)

I celebrated the Wolf Full Moon at the White Spring. This moon occurs in January during the cold of mid-winter - where in some countries packs of wolves howl hungrily outside areas of population. It is sometimes referred to as the Old Moon, the Full Snow Moon and the Moon After Yule. Since my last visit to the White Spring, most of the internal structures have been removed, the white paint has been blasted from the walls and the large water storage tank has made way for a waterfall. This is still very much work in progress for the building but things are definitely heading in the right direction. A small group gathered here for the 18:30 start and we were joined a bit later by Max, Lisa, Nick and Lynda. We all helped Gill to light candles and place them around the building. We then took some time to tune into the surroundings and Merlin of the Woods played his didgeridoo as he moved around the building. The acoustics are quite different with the upper floor removed and the sound of the new waterfall was incredible. We then gathered in the centre of the building. Gill talked about the season and others contributed their thoughts. It’s a season that has several different meanings depending on your perspective. Merlin led us through several short songs related to water. And Gill took us through a meditation related to the Kabbalah. We finished off with a re-run of the songs with Merlin as well as some group toning. This was a great platform on which to build 2009’s events. Next stop the traditional combined Imbolc event with Chalice Well and Bride’s Mound.
